How Microdermabrasion Can Work for You

by Sara Kitch

As much as we would like to avoid them, acne scars, fine wrinkles and sunspots are all potential skin problems. The good news is you have options. Microdermabrasion treatments have a proven track record at alleviating these skin conditions.

How Does Microdermabrasion Work?

Microdermabrasion consists of a light abrasion that will partially or completely remove the dead outermost surface of the skin, the stratum corneum. It is performed at day spas, doctors' offices, and can even take place in the privacy of your own home

Microdermabrasion and Its Three Application Techniques

Crystal Microdermabrasion

Crystal microdermabrasion has always been the traditional treatment of choice. In this procedure a special hand held device blows a high speed flow of aluminum oxide microcrystals onto the outermost layer of the skin. The exfoliation process occurs from these microcrystals. At the same time another part of the device is vacuuming dead skin cells, dirt and used crystals. There are two strengths that make this effective. The irregular shape of the crystal is what makes it abrade so well, and its component of aluminum oxide is the second hardest mineral after diamonds.

Diamond Microdermabrasion

Diamond microdermabrasion uses a disposable or diamond tipped wand to abrade the outermost layer of the skin. The advantage for this method is it takes out the possibility of free flying crystals inadvertently hitting and damaging sensitive areas of the face. The tipped wands come in different shapes and sizes to make a more precise application to needed parts of the face. The negative is that both these procedures require that the patient attends a medical clinic or day spa for at least 6 to 12 sessions. These appointments last up to an hour and the price tag can reach up to a thousand dollars. Fortunately a cheaper and more time efficient skin microdermabrasion treatment is out.

At Home Microdermabrasion

Skin resurfacing products can now add to their list a microdermabrasion cream that can be used from home. In particular if the cream is made of all natural ingredients, it can produce long lasting results on top of being easy to apply. The microdermabrasion cream abrades the skin using tiny particles leaving your face with a 'polished' appearance. Scarred or discolored outer layered skin is gradually removed upon repeated use. The microdermabrasion results are twofold. The surface skin cell turnover is enhanced and it causes the self replenishment of collagen and elastin to replace the older and drier layer of the skin.

The microdermabrasion skin cream called BIOSKINEXFOL consists of 100% natural biological skin rejuvenating activators that stimulate new skin cells replacing the old and damaged ones. Its special ingredient is snail serum (Helix Aspersa Muller). Its properties and molecular structures that are very similar to human skin allow its regenerating effects to be replicated on us. It is BIOSKINEXFOL that works so well as a microdermabrasion cream because it can scrub away the top layered skin surface as well as regenerate healthy skin cells. It thereby makes the complete and effective skin care treatment one should give a try.
